Today, I drove six hours with a friend to see one of her favorite bands in concert. We were turned away at the door because the online site didn't say we had to be 21 to enter. I drove six hours back with nothing to show for it but an empty gas tank and useless tickets. FML

I don't know if you noticed, but OP specified that there was nothing about the age restriction on the website...

A lot of concerts are at bars, she should have checked. Also, any online ticket place will say if it's for legals only. She didn't look hard enough.

I often sell tix that I have extra if at concerts. face value- no scalping. legal.

and you deserve a roundhouse kick to the face courtesy of America.

That's really weird, I've never been to or heard of any shows that have age limits. That sucks dude. FYL.

Betcha the gig was at a bar, and betcha the site said "MUST BE 21!" Yeah, YDI

That sucks! It happened to me once, too, though not nearly as far away. But YDI, if you're under 21 check with the venue before buying...especially if it is quite far away. I'll bet you'll remember for next time!

YDI for driving when it's your friend who wanted to see them, and then not having her give you any gas money. Stupid.

That sucks. I've had to miss a few shows because I'm under 21. (Thankfully, I didn't actually buy tickets to the shows) The drinking age should be 18 anyway. Or they could've had a beer garden type set up.
