I'm sure it wasn't really your fault. They probably already were struggling and all it took was a little something too much. It could have been anything.
Hey OP, just a word of advice. You cannot end a functional relationship. If anyone is the 'reason' for ending a relationship, it just goes to prove that the relationship was dysfunctional and there was no trust or true love involved, otherwise they would have stayed together. If your parents said it was your fault, they're just trying to find a scapegoat to make themselves feel better. If you think it's your fault, it's not. But look at the bright side, maybe you'll get twice the presents during special occasions, and your parents might try to one-up each other in the gift giving department. Either way, I'm sure you will be glad to not listen to them argue.
OP, whatever your parents told you was a lie. They're both using you as a scapegoat because it's easier than admitting that they're the ones at fault.
