Wouldn't the motion sensors be disabled while people are at home? our old system had a setting so when you were out for the day, the sensors would be active, at night while you're home, the sensors are disabled so that the alarm would only trip if a door or window was opened or smashed.
I would always set that setting at night. What if someone got in your house while it was disabled and hid in your basement? Or a closet? Night is when I'd most likely set the motion sensor, because I watch too much criminal minds.
Because sometimes people need to get up in the middle of the night to pee, or for a drink, or to let their dog outside because it'd about to have diarrhoea all over floor.
I had a cat, and because of it we needed to change the motion sensors to break-glass mode. Having a pet makes the motion sensor kind of impossible, doesn't it?
if someone got in at night, it'd go off anyway. there'd be no need for them to move and trip the motion sensor, we had a cat as well who would set it off at night if that setting was active
I was home alone one night and my alarm went off. I was positive the garage door has just popped open enough to trip the door sensor, as it sometimes does. I answered the alarm company call and said I was fine, then hung up and went to close the door. It was already closed. I waited for 20 minutes in sheer panic until I realized that if someone had come in and hid somewhere, I was probably going to die regardless of my next move, so I went back to bed. I would have loved a motion sensor... though I probably still would have died.
thats what i thought too
Motion detectors are disabled by default in stay mode for this very reason. Ydi because it's your own misunderstanding
Just get up and go to the bathroom.
I would've gotten up anyway. They didn't have the consideration to wake you, so why should you be considerate of them?
Yell for them? Post a reply please :)
So get up and wake them up
If they put it on Stay mode, the alarm shouldn't be triggered by a motion sensor
Just get up

pff, their fault, would have gotten up anyway.
I wouldn't hold it in if I were you, it's just a siren, not a cage of lions.
