Today, I finally got the courage to make a move on the guy I've been crushing on. I asked him if he would like to go see a movie with me. He answered, "Sorry, I've already seen it." I didn't even mention any particular movie. FML

In what sense is this an FML? You were interested in someone who turned out not to be interested in you. So that's you and every single other person on the planet. He wasn't overtly rude about it, he just put you off.

Sorry for you OP, FYL though.

You wouldn't enjoy a date with an amateur movie critic who has seen everything already. He'd just keep commenting on the acting and pointing out continuity errors.

If he's gonna make a dick move like that, call him out on it.

Come on, OP, you don't want to have a crush on a douchewad who crushes your heart like that! Chin up, move on, find someone who's worthy of you!!

I don't understand why people think this guy was being a dick - he didn't want to go on a date with her, so he turned her down. That's fair enough. Maybe he panicked and just said the first excuse that came to mind because he didn't want to have the awkward 'um, no thanks... ok well I guess I'll see you around...' conversation. It was a little insensitive, but he could have been way meaner about it. It sucks for OP but she'll get over it, and at least she had the courage to ask him and find out, rather than waste months pining after him and not even speaking to him.

#64, Actually, I feel like if the situation were reversed, the girl would be called a bitch. This is because people choose to make stupid excuses instead of telling the truth that they just don't feel the same way. Sure, saying "I just want to be friends." is a little cliche, but it's a hell of a lot better than lying and getting caught in said lie.

Funny because if I wanted to be "just friends" with a girl, I wouldn't refuse to go to the cinema with her :p

And that's why I refuse to ask anyone out, no matter how much I like them. Rejection sucks and I hate myself for unnecessarily causing myself embarrassment and hurt.

Reminds me of a line in Friends, when Rachel is in love with Joey but he is dating Charlie. Charlie to Rachel "Do you wanna go to the movies with Joey and me?" Rachel: "I have seen them" Charlie: "You've seen all the movies?"
