Today, I finished building a porch I've worked hard on for the past 2 weeks, and I was very proud on how amazing it turned out. Within 20 minutes of it being completed, my pregnant dog decided to crawl underneath it to have her puppies. I had to take half the porch apart to get to her and them. FML

I would feel sorry for you but now you have puppies in your life so I can't.

Good thing you know how to build a great porch! Luckily you didn't have to pay to get it fixed!

Wow! That really does suck! But be glad she didn't have them somewhere more dangerous like in a utility closet, where the constant shifting of bodies could cause something to fall and injure her or the pups.

I hope you have a licence to breed your dog. Backyard breeders are the scum of the earth. Do you have any idea how many puppies under two years get put down at animal shelters. I do! It's not a game, it's not a toy, these are lives, be responsible people!

OP is a BYBer. A reputable breeder knows when the bitch is whelping and keeps her in the room where her whelping box is.

Surprise, surprise! What a clique! What about an older dog sitting on death row. Plenty of those need homes too.

Well that goes to show you when u put it back together to incorporate a crawl space for future incidents. Example a dead skunk or such.

You could have left her. She knows how to take care of her own litter.

As long as the bitch was attending to the litter there was no need for you to get them out.

Had to pull the porch apart for the pooch. The pooch under the porch had a pup. Called the new pooch under the porch, Patch.

1 you shouldnt have had any spots open for any animal to get through 2 you could have left them there she didnt want you geting to them other wise she would have went somewere else like under a bed

Why would you have to get to the dog? It would have come out on its own when it was ready.
