Today, I finished moving cross-country and signed a 13 month lease to be closer to my on-again / off-again boyfriend of the past five years. I showed up at his place to borrow his truck just as his "local" girlfriend was leaving. FML

I'm the OP. I originally moved away from him to finish my degree/get my Masters. We've been on and off because he runs private security for the government and spends the majority of his time overseas. I signed a 13 month lease because I wanted to live in a house and I have two big dogs. He was all for me moving out here. Long story short, IMO: the situation blows, we're over and done with, and I have an awesome new house/job in Vegas.

never move in with your on again/ off again boyfriend! It is a disaster waiting to happen!

kinda of a stupid thing, the move closer to a guy whose on-again/off-again. I'm guessing your desperate, or you don't know your self worth.

wtf. why would you move across the country for a guy who you can't even maintain a consistent relationship with? you totally deserve it for not exercising any common sense. Barely anything that is on-again/off-again ends well.

I read as far as "on again off again" WTFH IS WRONG WITH YOU!? YOU ******* *****! You moved all the way across the country so you could torture some innocent guy and his family! your a ******* bitch. Why dont you make the world a better place and kill yourself?

Well, looks like the "local girlfriend" is a 15 year old girl from "Marlboro, US".

don't say that a long-distance relationship doesn't work. i had one for over a year, and we are now engaged. i never worried about him or our relationship. if it's meant to be, it will be, and we lived 800 miles away from each other.

Something similar happened to me only he was an ex boyfriend who professed his love for me non stop over the phone. It escalated to him proposing to me. I'm from California and we dated before I moved to North Carolina for work. I dropped everything and flew back home only for the guy to ignore me for the first two weeks of my return. When he did contact me we met up. During our reunion his mom, sister, and GIRLFRIEND of 6 months show up to tell me to leave him alone. FML. OP if it's any consolation I moved on with my life and have been dating my current boyfriend for four months. The ex I mentioned above will not stop calling and begging me to go back to him. In the end you'll be happy and that jerk with be miserable. Trust me.

uhh? and you expected what? key words in this? 'on AGAIN-OFF again boyfriend' YDI

Seems like somebody doesn't understand the term on again off again....

"On-again off-again" ?! Would you go through that when when there's a VERY high chance things won't work out?!

Constant on again/off again relationships can be a pain. Sometimes you just have to choose one or the other.

did he know you were coming? it sounds like you just moved without really discussing. maybe that's why he's your on again/off again. ydi
