Today, I finished the first month of a diet and exercise program designed to help me lose weight. To keep myself motivated, I have avoided the scale the entire time. I weighed myself today. I've gained 6 pounds. FML

what 186 said.. just eat 500 calories less a day.. means you'll lose weight and once you've lost enough go back to eating even not excess. If you do some crappy water diet it'll work for a week you'll be unhealthy as shit and feel crap

Muscle weights more than fat, so go by inches instead. I bet you look fine. Keep it up and don't get discouraged.

Muscle weighs more than fat so congrats!

Hey, too all the idiots who say "its not muscle you retards." Its called exercise.

206,on a diet you can't really gain lean body mass. to you and all the idiots trying to make themselves look smart.

And btw, to all the ppl trying to lose fat, try biking 30 a day, or every other day, if you can. It does wonders.

use measuring tape if the scale scares you. maybe you lost inches but gained muscle?

I wonder if all these people who say muscle weighs more than fat use this argument every time they gain weight. Oh snap, I gained 100 lbs in 1 month and I didn't even exercise? Wow, I'm gaining a ton of muscle!!! lawlfactory

Guess what, Captain Smartass? OP mentioned that exercise was part of the program. So shut up and think before you make a dick comment next time.
