Today, I finished the first month of a diet and exercise program designed to help me lose weight. To keep myself motivated, I have avoided the scale the entire time. I weighed myself today. I've gained 6 pounds. FML

Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are excersizing and building muscle mass. That's why

Going on special diets is such a waste, if you eat healthy getting the correct amount of vitamins carbs protein fat etc and you burn more calories a day then you eat, you will lose weight. As for losing fat, you will lose muscle when working out and lose fast after the workout if the workout is aerobic, if you make it anaerobic or you will lose the fat quicker. It's amazing how many people just don't understand their body and know how to gain muscle or fat and which one will result in you looking slimmer or be lighter. Also to OP, did u put 6 pounds of muscle on or 6 pounds of fat? If you put 6 pounds of muscle on this is basically a good thing, all you have to do now is go cardio and you'll burn muscle and fat off which means u wont look gross and skinny after it (providing you weren't muscly to start with otherwise you don't have to worry about muscle gain)

Maybe it's because you are a fatty and you eat way more big macs than you are burning during exercise

Muscle is 7x heavier than fat. Don't worry

Which is pretty much my point^ Op probably put on some muscle, unless their diet was heavy on carbs and fat lol. But you can really lose weight healthily without exercising it's basically the key. You could live off Big Macs but burn more calories then you eat and you'll lose weight (not that i recommend this)

The first month or so you do gain a few pounds but as you start creating new muscle in your body it will start burning more calories and fat you will start trimming down rather quickly though just do the core/alternate system push days pull days leg day and stick to a strict diet and try to not look in the mirror with your clothes off for about 3 weeks at a time and you will notice major changes in build and defanation

Who cares what you weigh as long as you look good? I weigh like 165 but I'm not fat. I just have ****, ass, and very lean and muscular legs. And very dense bones.

Also the good news is: the more muscle you have the easier to burn fat. How do your pants fit is the real scale

Hide a camera somewhere in your bedroom and record yourself as you sleep. That way you'll find out who's sneaking into your room and force-feeding you fatty foods!

Check the circumference of your belly and see if it's muscle that you picked up instead of fat. Even if it isn't, we all have bad months. Go over what you're going, check to make sure it's the right plan, and try again.
