Today, I flew home to Germany to see my wife before I'm deployed, only to find her in bed with another guy. She explained that she wants us to stay together, but she can't take a year without being intimate with someone. FML

I marked FYL because that definitely sucks for you, but she voiced a point that most couples deny: that there are many times in which monogamy really doesn't work. I think many marriages could be saved if couples would be willing to lighten up just a little on the monogamy restrictions. Sorry that you had to learn such a lesson in such a cruel way, though.

Well if you go away to fight for your country, your woman understands you may be away from her and should be ready to be faithful, in return for you doing a noble thing and fighting for your country. I agree that monogamy doesnt always work, but this situation isnt the time for that view, that view is for like long distance relationships caused by work or extenuating circumstances. Army wives who cheat on their husbands should be tortured, that's the lowest thing I can think of for a spouse to do
