Depends on the STD. Some of them can get picked up from places like public bathrooms without having sex. Either way, I hope you've got something that will go away with a few rounds of meds.

Depends, she may have had it before and it hadn't shown up yet on any tests before she started dating OP. Used to work in a hospital and my ex in an STD testing center. Lots of people tend to sleep around before they officially start dating someone officially bf/gf only to find out later they got something from a "hook up" or a friend with benefits. So it can and does happen fairly frequently.
