Today, I found out I will not be getting my class ring. The jeweler has a policy against doing engravings that contain "obscene or offensive language or phrases". What obscene phrase did I want? My initials and year. W.T.F. 2010. FML

Today, I took a ring to be cleaned, and the jeweler offered to clean all my rings, so I gave them to him. When he gave them back, he said he'd polished all the scratches on the wedding band. The “scratches” were the remains of the original engraving on my dead father's wedding band. FML

Today, after months of saving, I went to buy the wedding ring I promised to buy my fiancée. Just seconds after I walked in, the owner asked me to leave, saying he doesn't serve "trash" like me, while pointing at the memorial tattoo on the back of my hand. FML

Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML

Today, I went to sell my wedding rings, due to the fact that I'm getting divorced from a man who cheated on me. The jeweler informed me that the stone in my engagement ring is fake. I won't even be able to cover the divorce costs from the proceeds. FML

Show the Jewler a copy of your driver's license or something with your name on it. Those are your initials, plain and simple. They shouldn't have a problem with that. IF they do, then ask for a full refund of your money, and take your business elsewhere. IF they give you a hard time after explaining that these are your initials, then file a complaint with the BBB. They love that shit. Don't let them bulldoze you

I read in the book The Survivors Club that your initials can have a big impact on your life. Those whose initials spelled negative words (RAT, BUM, ASS, etc) tend to have a shorter lifespan than those whose initials spelled positive words (ACE, WIN, JOY, etc). If I remember correctly, they also tend to be less successful and less happy than their counterparts.
