Someone else paying for their college ed wasn't even an option for 90% of the people I know. Get a loan, get a job, pay for it yourself.

Wow. Now, I understand that people would be more than a little hurt if they lost their horse, but a human's education is more important IMO. You can say horses feel pain too a hundred times, but ultimately they aren't self-aware, they don't know that they exist. And, as much as I disagree with it, I understand someone saying a animal's life is as important as a humans, but a horse's life being MORE important? That's just stupid, honestly.

Okay, nobody needs to tell me how sad it is to loose a pet, I have lost many and I cry and cry, but eventually I get over it, and end up getting a new pet, thats what everybody does. But you can't expect someone to not go to college to save your horse. Who knows if that horse will even live with the operation. The horse might only live a year or two more. But if you miss out on college... You can kiss all your dreams goodbye. No dream job, no big house, nothing. It could still happen, with a miracle, but if you don't go to college. To wrap this long comment up, a young humans life is more important than a horses life. It hurts me to say that, but at the end of the day, if that horse survives a few more years, it is not going to give you urgent heart surgery, etc. Thank you for reading. - Sam

Horses are loving and living creatures, they are smarter than humans. Horses don't betray each other like humans do. They are put on this earth to please us,not to be beaten or abused. They are a beautiful mix of freedom and gracefulness. Cold hearted people. They have souls. They have a different language. It's just silent.

You could, I don't know, pay for it yourself?! Have you not filled out FASFA? There are loans out there designed for college students, and don't start earning interest until after you graduate. There are many options, such as scholarships, student loans, working while in school, etc. I have 3 horses, so the fact that some people are saying "it's just a horse" really gets me going. I've had my gelding since I was 8 and he was 5. I'm now 19 (he's 16), and I can't imagine not giving him everything he needs. I've literally grown up with him, and I would probably die if he died and I could have saved him.
