Today, I found out my 12 year old daughter is going through a bit of an "emotional" stage. I got a call from her school saying she was sitting in the corner at recess trying to cut her wrist. With a plastic spoon. FML

It isn't really important that she used a plastic spoon. If she wants to cut her wrist (and/or even commit suicide) she has a big issue. Please, take it seriously. Even kids can get in a depression, search help to get her back out again.

That...that is silly. However, you still should get that checked out. When I was 8, I threatened to kill myself with a butter knife (thought the butcher knives would hurt too much) and as ridiculous as it was, it was just before my onset of serious depression that I still struggle with.

Maybe you should hold her back until she learns to do it properly.

I feel like everyone goes through a depressing phase but it will pass. I think that you should talk to her though.

It's cute how you think that depression "phases" eventually pass.

Well, maybe you should try to get your daughter some help instead of putting this on FML as entertainment! It may seem ridiculous or like she's just trying to get attention, but i either way, she needs help and I'm sure your daughter would apriciate it if you took her seriously! If she is just trying to get everybody's attention, that may mean she hasn't been getting enogh attention from you. Does she have younger siblings? Maybe she feels like they get all the attention because little kids need attention. This is all just a theory of course, I'm only 14 and I'm in no way qualified to critisize your parenting, and that is not what I'm trying to do. Just think about it and please, take your daughter seriously.

This is a serious cry for help, not an "emotional phase." PLEASE get her some help before she moves on to actually cutting herself, or worse. Best of luck.

U have a ****** up dAughter and ur the only one to blame ahhahahahahah

Maybe you should pay more attention to your kid...

She still has recess at age 12? I mean, people get a little depressed as they start puberty cause of alot of emotions... She'll get over it
