Today, I found out my friends replaced the water in my bottle with vodka when all my fish died. Any water I don't finish the night before, I pour into my tank the next morning. Thousands of dollars and years hard work, gone. FML

Today, I found out that just because my roommate doesn't buy alcohol, it doesn't mean she isn't stealing mine and slowly replacing it with water. That bottle cost me $150 and was destined to be a present for my best friend, whom I haven't seen in years. FML

Impatient fish

Today, two of my daughter's fish died after owning them for a year. Yesterday I spent $400 on a new bigger fish tank so that they would be happier. I built the stand, set it up, and got everything running. All I had to do was let it run for a week so that the pH would be fine for them, and then move them across. FML

Today, I noticed my 5-gallon glass vase/aquarium was leaking at the base. When I went to move the vase so I could transfer everything to a new aquarium, the bottom completely detached, sending water, sand, sea shells and fish crap everywhere. FML

Today, I bought a fish. I put the tank on top of the fridge so my cat wouldn't get at it. I'd forgotten to buy some things for its tank, so I quickly ran out to get them. When I got home, I saw the tank destroyed on the floor, and my cat devouring my fish. I had the fish for less than an hour. FML

Today, my parents were having a Christmas party. They went out to get the vodka in our garage fridge, only to find most of it was frozen. Knowing vodka doesn't freeze, they soon realized that I had been taking some and refilling it with water over the past two months. FML

Today, I heard on television that a body was found in my city's water reservoir. Word is that it was dead for over a week. I've been drinking and showering with that water. FML

Today, my friend is furious with me because while I was watching her various fish for two weeks, I failed to feed her favorite fish and it died. The reason I didn't take care of it was because she never told me she had it, that it was in her room unlike the rest of the fish, so I never saw it. FML

<p>Having been into fishkeeping for about 10 years I can tell you that just pouring water you've already drank from into your tank on a daily basis is risky (especially for a salt water aquarium) but I still believe you should go after your friends for some sort of damages. I don't know how old OP is, but ask their parents. Take them to small claims if you have to, and don't worry about their friendship because what kind of friends do something like that in the first place? If you spent so much

They replaced the unfinished water with vodka. That's what he poured into the fish tank.

Sounds like he was drinking from it the night before. The friends, after OP went to sleep presumably, then dumped out the remaining water and replaced with vodka. OP didn't drink from it in the morning...just dumped it into the fish tank. At least, that's my take on this.

Make then pay to replace your fish and clean your tank if they are your friend they will feel bad for what they did and do the responsible things. If they don't have them arrested for animal cruelty.

Time for some new, mature friends. They should pay to replace the fish. But if they are immature enough to do something like that to begin with, I doubt they would.
