You walk every day for a year, and you’re still out of shape? Maybe you’re in denial about not having medical issues!
Juts keep going! You are killing it and it will only get easier! You have GOT this!
Don't need asthma to be winded. Heart condition? Cut your walks in half and don't have as much intensity until you can keep up. Cut the distance so you can get home, and up it every time you go!
What's your diet like? What do you eat/drink before going for a walk? You still might want to consult with a doctor about this. Getting severely winded everytime you go for a walk, especially if you've been doing this for about a year is a concern and you should clear it up. At the very least your doctor could clear you medically and refer you to a more appropriate professional who can help you depending on your personal needs.

I agree that you should see a doctor. If you’ve been doing this for a year, you shouldn’t have to struggle as much as you did when you started. I’m proud of you for sticking with it! I hope you get the answers you need so you can feel better
