OMG. That would have happened to me too if I checked Facebook, but I didn't go on all day and my mom was able to tell me when I got home.

Sorry that sucks, it happened to me too. My parents weren't able to tell me because everyone felt the need to post it right away not thinking of others
With all the ways that people can contact someone, FACEBOOK should not be a primary method for good or bad news. I have missed many events because my friends and some family think that FACEBOOK is the means to communicate with anyone any information. I don't have a FACEBOOK account and don't care to. Sorry OP.
