Today, I found out that I have a gluten allergy. What this basically means is that I can't eat anything with wheat in it; bread, pasta, cake, you name it. I am Italian, this basically limits me from eating any of the awesome food my family makes almost every night. Here I come plain rice. FML

There are gluten free flours out there -not at good as the real thing but still work-able. it's awful at first but eventually you learn to adapt and barely even notice the difference.

I've got that too ;( Believe me that sucks!

not eating gluten isn't so bad, I grew up on rice in a family where we ate noodles almost every night. Almost every single sauce that goes on noodles tastes almost as good on white rice (or brown rice depending on the type of noodle it would go on).

Not many people know this but northern italians eat rice not pasta

My dad's a Celiac, so I'm uses to eating gluten free meals that mum cooks for him. It really isn't that bad. These days, there are lots of substitutes :)

yeah I'm Italian too I think I would die if that happened.

Ever heard of spelt? I don't really even see why this is an FML. Lots of people are allergic to wheat. There are plenty of gluten-free products around. It's really not that big of a deal.
