Your dentist shouldn't let you fly after surgery, they can gat a fine.
Why would a dentist be fined for that? It's not like they can stop you from doing things before you're recovered fully
pretty sure a root canal isn't a serious enough surgery that you have to stay inactive after it
Nobody said anything about being inactive. They said you're not supposed to fly, which you're not. Has to do with the air pressure. I just had a root canal and my pre info sheet mentioned it & my aftercare sheet mentioned it. You're not supposed to fly after a root canal.
you can always reschedule a root canal.
I would ask your dentist to allow for you to reschedule. They can work on the tooth and put on a temporary cap if needed; they will clean the root out of the tooth first which deadens it to any pain. It doesn't swell or have any residual effects which will allow you to be comfortable during your training. You can then have the root canal when you get back. Good luck on the new job, the training, and the root canal!
dentists are scary enough the first time, but the second time is worse. espically if you're afraid of dentists like OP stated
Another FML post PENDING after dentist/flying/training... :p
Getting out of a dentist appointment isn't hard, but finding a better day to get the canal done, yes. Also root canals aren't bad at all! I had one like 5 years ago, I didn't feel a thing just ago pinch from the shots after they numbed my gums with this gel
You can get the both done, i dont like dentist but in order to not feel that pain you'll have to go thru with it. As for the flying do what everyone else is saying to do, get some painkillers or probably some good Herb ? get on the flight and head to your training. By the time your back home youll be satisfied that you got your Fears over with.
I've had a few root canals in my time, unfortunately. You can easily reschedule it, unless you're in pain and don't want to :(
Wouldn't it be safer to just get the tooth pulled? Root canals can cause nerve pain, and then instead of a tooth that can just be removed, you have permanent pain in your jaw that you have to live with for the rest of your life. If, you know, it doesn't cause a more serious neurological issue, which also happens.
You might want to check if flying after having a root canal would be medically ill advised, as flying after a tooth cavity filling can cause medical issues. Perhaps(hopefully) you will be safe and the method for the root canal will not affected by the pressurization involved with flying.

It's the perfect day to go skydiving, and get a pet tarantula. All while being in the dark of course.
Well, we have your "pretty sure" verses the OP's explicit statement that she can't get out of it. Who will win this epic battle?!
