maybe it would be better for everyone if they just let it be awkward, and after one or two times of that, you'd get the hint and not make lame jokes. not trying to be mean, but obviously it's much more awkward finding this out now after all this time. don't quit your day job. you can't be a comedian. oh well.

You ought to take the hint, and the only words that come out of your mouth when you're with your "friends" should be stock quotes, sports scores and weather forecasts. You'll have the same entertainment rating of zero as you do with your comedy act, but at least they'll keep you around for being useful.
