Today, I found out that my girlfriend's parents offered her a trip to Europe if she dumped me. She accepted, and broke up with me. Her parents were lying. FML

I would've agreed too and then would've taken you with me on the trip. If she was up front about pretending to break up with you then no harm. If she seriously broke up with you, you got off easy. Not many of us get to know the character of our SOs until it's too late.

There was no such offer -- she just made that up to make you think the parents were the "bad cop." If it were genuine, she could have dumped you, taken the trip and reunited (Peaches n Herb) with you when she got back. What are the parents going to do? Repossess the trip? She just didn't want to tell you the truth about why she wanted to dump you.
