Sue them for their backyard and house
Wow, I think this is one of the highest ratios of fyl vs ydi I've seen. No idea how a few hundred still voted ydi mind.
Oh man, that's gotta suck for them. If OP has any sensibility at all he'll/she'll sue them for everything they're worth! Yup, the neighbor's did NOT think that one through...
Send them a certified letter giving them notice to take it down immediately or you will sue
This makes me seethe in rage. I had a similar situation where a neighbor didn't like our fence and wanted it taken down. It's on our property so she had no right to even suggest that. One day my ma was across the street at this cafe and saw a stranger go into our backyard and start measuring. When asked "The **** are YOU doing here?" he said "I'm taking this fence down." "No you're NOT this fence is on my property now get off my property before I call the cops" You have every right to knock that shit down. Even if the shared fence was more on their property line it does NOT give them the right to encroach on your turf. Light that bitch up.
Thats just wrong...im sorry about that and your sister, OP. :'(

They... essentially stole your pool...? This is just bizarre. In what universe would anyone, from any walk of life, think this is okay?
Take it down.
