Today, I found out that my neighbors took it upon themselves to knock down the fence we shared, and putting up a new one. Thus fencing my pool into their yard. When I asked them why, he replied, "We thought you weren't coming back." I was gone for 4 months tending to my sister with breast cancer. FML

They... essentially stole your pool...? This is just bizarre. In what universe would anyone, from any walk of life, think this is okay?

Why are people all "sue! sue! sue!"? Tell them to put the fence back where it belongs, and pay for cleaning the pool. If they do, no harm done. If they don't, then sue. Don't people actually discuss problems any more?

There are 119 people without a freaking heart so far.

take a chainsaw to the fence throw pieces on there sides tell them if its not fixed in 2 weeks authorities will be involved. then get a restraining order on those crazy thieves

I think every ones forgetting something, is your sister okay?

If you were me, I would demand to tear down the fence nicely and if they were rude or if it took them a week to do so I would call the city and even some neighbors to watch me as I tear down that fence. Not only would they have trouble with the law, but they would also be the most unpopular family in the neighborhood.

That's illegal, in so many ways, even if you weren't coming back. I hope they have agreed to fix the problem in a timely manner, at no cost to you (of course!), without you having to get the courts involved.

Put a fortress around the pool and take part of their backyard.

Have you taken legal recourse or just taken the move like a bitch?
