Today, I found out that the girl I tutored in high school in basic ENGLISH just received her PhD in Biophysics. I am now the manager of a McDonald's. I was also the Valedictorian of our graduating class. FML

LOL #1. You do know that Biophysics doesn't have that much of a correlation to English, right? You should get up and DO something about your situation instead at looking at what others are doing.

at least you're manager and not an employee :D

You can always apply to Arizona State...I mean it's college party capital of the world AND full of a bunch of idiots like you...they accept 95% of their applicants, so I assume if you can open a door and be to class on time you're in ;-)

[Ring] May I take your order? OP: I'd like to order a college education and um...some initiative. I also want to order a large not being a whining bitch easy on the ice. McDonald's employee: That will be get off your ass and do something dollars. OP: Shit I left my wallet in my other pair of self-pity pants. Sorry McDonald's employee: Here have a job application. OP: Well I better go online and complain instead of pursuing ambitions and being assertive.

YDI for resting on your laurels and not living up to your potential!

Sigh, got to shoot higher man with or without a college education, there are many jobs which pay better. A good start is retail and using salesmanship rank up, or you can do better by doing tougher or less wanted jobs such as becoming a fireman or even a trash man. I suggest trying to work for the feds where you can get retirement in 20 years its a sweet gig. Regardless if you failed to get scholarships I know that can be a bitch, but either way lay off the girl. She may of had troubles in English but clearly she stepped up to the plate and went for it. I've had problems with English however was exceptional in math and science and was doing relativistic calculations in Junior Year of high school of my own volition. Peace and gl

Well... I work at McDonald's and I have to say: SHITTEH! Man you've gotta go somewhere with your life right now or you'll be stuck in that hell hole for the rest of your life. I've only been working there 6 months and I wanna kill myself lmao. I'd quit right now if it was up to me but my mom is too controlling so apparently I'm stuck there for another 6 months. Anyway, good luck with your decisions, man!

This just shows how important a) high school english and b) being valedictorian are to your future. The kid you tutored in english was probably better than you in BioPhysics, which is why she has a PhD and you... suffer the consequences for thinking that english will help you in life.

It's called having DRIVE. Ambition. Did you ever have to work for anything in your life, or were you naturally smart? B students rule the world :/

I was in basic English in high school, failed some classes and I'm a two time college valedictorian. The difference between high school and college - in high school I had to take an anti-epileptic medication that zapped my memory and made concentration difficult. And my high school English teacher gave me F's on all my work, because I "suddenly significantly improved" when I stopped my AED - she said my sudden improvement was all she needed to prove that I wasn't doing the work myself. Also, in college, I didn't have the stress of abusive parents and siblings who thought it was funny to interrupt my studying/preventing me from completing assignments.
