Today, I found out the high school I have been doing at home for the past 3 years isn't accredited and doesn't count for anything. I'm 18 and starting high school as a freshman next year. FML

Some high schools don't allow students over 21. Good luck with that, and I mean it sincerely, cause that sucks.

You should ahve investigated it earlier tbh... I mean, how can you not know it? Were there more people in that school anyway?

wow, that sux. i mean all that hard work gone to waste? i hope u were actually doin the work. but if u were u might be able 2 test out of the class or grade. idk if its really true, but my friend said u could ask ur principle, vice principle, or maybe even teacher to get a test, and if u do good enough, ull get bumped up a class or even grade :) but my friend said he doesnt even kno if its true, sorry if im just gettin ur hopes up :( if ur school does have that thing, good luck with it and i hope u can make it to senior year :)

Get a GED. Go to community college for some core classes, after that nobody ever need know you have a GED. Seriously. You can also go straight to a nicer college with a GED, but not always. If people do find out, you can just explain your situation. I dropped out of HS and got my GED and once people realize I'm not a stupid druggie they accept it without thinking any less of me. In fact, they generally think better. They see an intelligent girl who was unhappy in school and had the guts to do what I thought was best, regardless of what others think. GEDs have a bad rep, but it's one that's easy to negate. And whoever put you into an unaccredited program was stupid. ALWAYS do a thorough check on any place you're schooled.

#46, the home schooling doesn't count for anything so he has to start highschool all over

same thing happened to me in gridley :/ now i have to get my GED :(

I know some one in my school that is 18 and just finished 9th grade!

Can't you just go to community college since you're 18? I'm not too sure on this, but I don't think community college requires a diploma to get in. Just age, pretty much. Correct me if I'm wrong though. xD

Bright side? You'll be invited to every party to buy the alcohol!
