Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. After she left, they told me they disapprove of her because of her supposedly lower social class. Now I have to either dump her or lose the money they set aside to pay for my university tuition. FML

Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

Today, I was accepted to college and received a scholarship equal to almost half the tuition. After sharing this news with my parents, I spent the next 35 minutes getting yelled at about how I wasn't allowed to go there because my boyfriend might go there. FML

YDI for dating an Irish guy. by the way, in Ireland the position of town drunk comes with great honor and prestige. you have to be a bigger drunken slob than everyone else - which is very hard to do. their daughter has a bright future if she sticks with her boyfriend. you on the other hand, why you are just a smarty pants educated person! useless in Ireland.
