First, protection isn't 100% effective. Second (though this one probably doesn't apply to OP), some people are religiously against using contraception.

I give you a FYL and a YDI. FYL for the fact that it was over twitter, and YDI for the fact that you had sex before getting married. Unless, of course, you're not the father. Then it's FYL all the way.
