Was the college fund in your name as well as theirs, or just theirs? Because if it was in your name as well, you may be able to take legal action.
Was the money yours or something they were giving you? If it was yours, FYL. If it was money they were putting aside for you, then they can really do with it what they want, it's their money. Yes it sucks for you, but it's not a FYL.

Well, parents aren't obligated to pay for college (mine sure aren't), but OP, if you were under the impression you'd be taken care of, your parents should have told you sooner so that you would at least have had time to apply for scholarships and student loans. Look at this as some time to take a year off and "find yourself", and maybe apply for scholarships and loans for next year. If I can do it on my own, so can you.
