The customer deserves it for letting a stranger come into their home and operate on their carpet, knowing full well what chemicals can do to color. That's just stupid, YOU were doing your job.

And I'm surprised no one has mentioned this: So he was barricaded in by a woman, but why would he try and leave if he just stained her carpet? Moreover, why would he use physical violence to get out of her house? Does he really need out that bad? So yeah, I don't think he's a 'sissy' at all, he was just saying that she took the unnecessary step of barricading him in, not that he was physically unable to defeat her to get out.
