Tints are very common in hot areas. I live in arizona and my car has a 100% tint. And i have heard cops cuss, they are humans too.... but i'm sure it all worked out in the end, even if you are on the ground with your hands on your head.
Was this in Los Angeles? Here in good ol' Manhattan, KS, I was tired at 1:37 in the morning one night after grocery shopping, and I rolled a stop sign and etc. home and the police stopped me at my parking spot at my apartment. I was getting out because I was already home, and the cop got out fast and yelled, "STAY IN THE VEHICLE!" That ended well at least. I didn't even get a warning. I told him I just needed to get to bed and showed him I was coming home from Wal-Mart. He said sternly, "Well, behave yourself!" and went off.
I dont think the OP deserved this at all, only thing is I don't live in America (assuming that's were the OP is from) so I dont know how american cops react to situations. Cause here in Aus you could probably open your door, slowly, without having a gun pointed at you. Now the facts> 1) Any good tint shop will tell you not to wind down your newly tinted windows for at least a couple of days, that is a cold hard fact. 2) 20% tint, although dark, is not extremely dark and it is certainly not a 'limo tint'. Limo tints are around 3-4% so while 20% is dark you could probably still see in and see the driver. 3) From what I read the Op never got out of the car, will a little bit stupid he still did the right thing. He opened the door, maybe a crack who knows, so he could speak to the officer. 4) Do american officers really start screaming like that if you open your door or make a sudden move? I'd be interested to know as the aus guys always seemed pretty placid in comparison. And that is my two cents worth :D
**** cops too ******* uptight seriously he just ******* opened the door sorry I just hate when people are stupid (i.e. cops) and #201, yeah, cops here are straight up bitches, don't put up with anything (in most places anyway). and yeah I heard that in England you're SUPPOSED to get out of the car when you're pulled over so my friend's dad got a gun pulled on him the first time he was pulled over in America. basically cops here are ******* annoying #191- no. most police officers are bitches
That sucks!
#'s 11, 14, 23, 31 (and countless more of you that are so clueless) First of all, the reason behind not rolling your window down for three (3) days after getting it done is so the tint film doesn't shift. There is still moisture under the film itself and if you roll the window down then it will move and be ruined. As for you, # 14: 20% is extremely dark. The number stands for how much light is let through the film. Limo's have 5% which is why it is so dark. #31: just shut up... And for the rest of you calling it "tints", also shut up. It's TINT. No 's' I would know because I tint car's for a living. For whose ever story this is, that sucks a lot. Be careful
Look on the bright side at least you didn't get shot :)
Cop wouldn't say effing. :/
