Today, I got a computer. When I opened it, I found out that my dad had made himself the administrator. He made it so everything shut off after 11 o'clock, and made it so I couldn't download anything without his password. FML

Today, my dad was sat on my laptop in the living room trying to learn how to do some rewiring around the house when he, and I quote, ”clicked on the thing.” My laptop is now riddled with so many viruses it’s basically a house brick. FML

Today, I found my brother tampering with my laptop. He had changed the entire settings, in ways I don't even know how to fix. I finally had to get my mom to threaten him to change it back to its original setting. I'm 15. He's six and can barely get dressed by himself. FML

Today, I borrowed my dad's laptop to type an essay. While I was saving it, I noticed some curious looking files and I opened them. They were rejection letters from all the colleges I had applied to. My dad had been forging them so he wouldn't have to pay for my tuition bills. FML

Today, our work computers are down so I've been trying to fix it via my home computer for 3 days. My 12-year-old son took one look at the screen, changed 2 settings on a drop down menu, and the problem was fixed. My 12-year-old is better at my job than I am. FML

Today, I was having computer problems, so I let my friend have remote access to fix them. We were video-chatting on Skype at the time, and so he thought it'd be hilarious to load hardcore porn in my browser the moment he saw my mom enter the room from behind me. I'm now grounded. FML

Today, I let my mother use my computer for school work. Later that day my mom asks me what's wrong with the computer. I look at it, only seeing a "Welcome to Windows XP" screen. She said that she saw a blue screen and pressed L and C when it asked her to. My mom managed to clear my hard drive. FML

restart your computer and press f8 repetedly while it boots until it gives you a choice of modes to log into. go into safemode, log in as the administrator (it'll give you an extra profile with no password) change any settings you need to change there.

Dude, there are ways around that. You can change an admin password before it boots up by using a program that boots up off of CD, or external device. There is one out there called "Change NT" There are quite a few out there. Don't let your dad own you like that, crack the password and download shit right in front of him. I wouldn't take that from my old man.

Admin password is generally set if a competent person was installing the system. Easiest way is to use a pre-made Linux-based CD to reset the Admin pwd. Simple and clean :) I love the general feel of comments under this one - sounds like a bunch of 12 year old script kiddies haggling over who has the best hax0r sk1llz
