There are a million ways to get out of jury duty if push comes to shove just say you're racist...Even better if it's your own race so you got a little crazy going for you too haha

Just send in a copy of your wedding announcement with the response card. Worked for my brother.

They call several hundred people at a time, knowing full well a lot of them won't make it. All you have to do is call them. They'll take you off the list for the duration of your wedding and honeymoon.

Maybe you can get our of jury duty in that case? But jeez, I thought it was bad when my teacher had jury duty during school camp one year. It wasn't just any camp, either. It was to Sovereign Hill, which is the one everyone looks forward to the most, as it's basically an 'open air' museum of the 1850's and you actually get to dress up as if you were in that time and go to the schools on site. Which may sound bad, but is friggin awesome fun.

If you go the website they provide, you can choose to defer your jury duty to a later date (I assume they have this due to things like this), rather than just confirming it, or not doing anything and being slapped with a $500 fine. The appropriate URL along with how to log in should be somewhere on your jury summons letter.

Easy to get out of without breaking any rules - I received a summons about 8 years ago for jury duty. I took it to my boss, he typed up a letter saying "my absence for an unknown amount of time would place undue hardship on the [small] company". I called, they didn't even ask for the letter, they just said "ok, your name has been removed from the jury selection for this court session"
