Ask if someone else can let him go. Say it's a conflict of interest

Oh my... That's tough one. Try talking it out with your supervisor then your soon to be father-in-law. One of them should understand your predicament. Good luck!

That's going to be one awkward wedding ceremony! When your father-in-law-to-be gives away his daughter, he won't let her walk the aisle in a white dress, just in a pink slip. Heeeeeyyy-yyyyoooooo!

wow. double whammy. F both your lives.

Not sure an FML could get any worse than this, not even getting mauled by a bear while having a lumberjack do the charleston on your genitals is worse than this. FYL.

I feel your pain I've had to fire my dad from the company he started because his moves were about to put us in bankruptcy. :(

Explain your hands are tied. It isn't your fault.

It's part of the job, but it is a conflict of interest. Simply tell them the situation and why you can't do it. Hopefully management will understand. If they don't, good luck!

If only I'd ever had the chance to fire my former mother in law. I get chills on my scalp just thinking about how great that would feel. Oh wait. That's the fresh buzzcut.

...Or the beans you took earlier. O.o

I would ask if someone else can do it. You shouldn't be made to do that.
