Today, I got a red light camera ticket for $100 in the mail. After checking the date and time, I realized it was from when I was rear ended into the intersection while STOPPED at a red light. FML

Hah, ouch. Good luck getting out of that one. If there was police involvement when you got rear-ended it shouldn't be hard.

One of two things happened here: One: You lied about this (the cameras take continuous video, not still pictures) and you should delete it. Two: Whoever was reviewing the section of video where you were allegedly rear-ended accidentally marked it as you ran the red light, in which case you should take the ticket to court and fight it.

i remember someone being ticketed for beating the yellow light. they complained the officer and the officer got suspended

You should think the camera would take a pic of the other car. Just show it and you dont need to pay :-D

#20 that is not true. i have witnessed many people get out of these tickets even under the circumstance that it was not them driving. contest the ticket and hopefully there is a police report from the accident that can be referenced to prove your not lying.
