Today, I got an email from my cousin to "save the date" for her baby shower. It's on my 21st birthday. This is the same cousin who got engaged on my 18th. FML

Op, sure it annoys you (It probs would annoy me). but damn, just celebrate your birthday the next day or weekend; or don't go to her shower if you care so much. I'm pretty sure she can't help the day she gets engaged and I doubt baby shower was a malicious attack on you. My birthday has always been on the first/second day of starting school or university for the academic year so I've always just celebrated another more convienient day. So, basically get over it, plenty of people can't celebrate their birthday on the exact day but they just do the sensible thing of realizing that day isn't all about them and celebate some other time.

can any one help me out with the business logic of FML and how does it work?

Just don't go and spend your b-day with your friends. :P

OP, I don't understand why you found this so annoying. Why do you make such a fuss about it? It's no biggie. You celebrate your birthday every year, but a baby shower and an engagement party are unique events that only happen once (or a few times...) in a lifetime. It's not your cousin's fault they happened on your birthday. You should actually be happy that you get to attend two different parties the same week (I suppose you'll celebrate your birthday a few days earlier/later). And if you're upset that you don't get to be the center of attention at the party that takes place on your birthday, no offense, but you are way too self-centered. Life is not just about yourself.

well in the US your can't drink till 21. How is the DUI rate over their then? I'd imagine it would be a lot higher at a young age to be able to drink.

94, I think your retarded or something, your comments make no sense, and there's just simply the fact that you are dumber than hell. Really? **** her husband over something this small.

Doesn't sound like too big of a deal, baby showers are typically in the day time. Go to the babyshower, but send out invites for a 21st birthday out in a night club. To make things even better, everyone will be out partying and drinking with you, and her pregnant self will have to stay home! lol

YDI for thinking your cousin should plan her life around when your birthday falls. Stop being so self-centered.
