Today, I got an email from my University informing me that I was invited to an exclusive dinner for 25 people. As I continued to read through the email, I discovered that I wasn't lucky or special, but that the dinner was for financially unstable students. They think I'm a charity case. FML

Free food is free food. This might involve free money for school as well. You aren't above anything.

What's wrong with being poor? I'm poor, I've been poor all my life. If I was offered a free meal and possible financial aid, I'd take advantage of it in a second!

College is free in Canada you dumb shit, I'm 13 and I know that (you do have to be a Canadian citizen of course, but you probably are, aren't you?)

are you on crack??? you have to pay for collage in Canada just like everywhere else in the world... so not so smart there...

College is most definitely NOT free in Canada. I wish.

I think you need to do some fact checking first. I am a Canadian born citizen. 23yrs old. You can get student loans from the government to pay for your education, however you do have to pay back that loan.

What's so bad about being "financially unstable" I mean look at the kids in africa. They go days without food.

YDI, there is nothing wrong with being financially unstable. If you are this is a great way to get things organized. They are there to help you, not embarrass. Go for it!

You DON'T deserve it you ungrateful shit. How can anyone complain about free tuition? I say they should let you figure out how to pay for class yourself.

no they think you might have some financial problems. it sounds to me like they're trying to help. if you dont have financial problems then tell them. maybe it's a mistake.
