Today, I got back from my daughter's flat in Scotland. I got a flight there yesterday morning to surprise her on her 21st birthday. Nobody told her I was coming. When I got there, it turned out she decided to get a plane to London to surprise me. £200 on flights, and I didn't even get to see her. FML

And she spent the same and didn't get to see you. Only it's worse for her because she just wasted her 21st birthday. Oh, I just said 1st. Yehey!

I seen like 20 FMLs like this. You would think people would learn. Oh well FYL

But your goal was to surprise her, and you did accomplish that: you were both surprised to find out you had flown to each other's place. SURPRISE!! If your goal had really been to SEE her, you would have called her first. Get a clue.

Too many daughter's don't want to see their parents let alone spend money for a surprise visit so it's not really much of a FML. It is possible the parent and the daughter checked with friends to see if they were going to be around and the friends told them they would be so they wouldn't ruin the surprise.

is it just me or does this happen alot

Uhh YDI, should've got someone to make sure she stayed around if you wanted to surprise her or should've told her yourself Sucks for her though

repost, just slightly different. Good one, though.

Even if she wasn't planning to surprise you, who's to say she'd be home? And you're dumping yourself at her house without notice on her 21st birthday? YDI, buddy.
