Today, I got demoted from my manager's position, only to be replaced by a 21 year-old who has never worked in retail in her life. I now have to spend the next month teaching her my job so they can fire me. FML

Today, I was fired from the job I've had for 15 years. My boss recently hired his daughter as a senior manager and she made several cuts because, as she put it, the sales team was "too old and lame". I didn't know being a young bitch was a requirement to work at a furniture warehouse. FML

Why were you demoted? It clearly wasn't for budgetary reasons (in which case they would have gotten rid of an assistant manager or had a manager from another story pull double duty) if they hired someone else. Most managers I know who have gotten demoted/fired had it happen because they treated their employees like dung on their shoes. It could just be your bad luck, of course.
