Grindwhore tells us more.
They have yet to give me a reason why, I'm still confused as hell.

I'm guessing you worked in a charity and decided to "take care" of an orphanage.
Now they saved more money!
"DAMN IT, WE DON'T WANT TO SAVE MONEY! Why do you think we didn't switch to Geico?"
It all just comes down to how you made that money, and also whether or not it was your job to do so. A lot of places will not allow random employees to try and make changes, even if they're beneficial, simply because the risk of allowing untrained employees to do so outweighs the possible benefits. If it wasn't your place to save that money, you could have just been fired as a liability. "Sure, so-and-so earned us 6,000 dollars, but what's to stop him/her from losing us that much next time?"
Makes sense to me. Shame there seems to be some weepy soul going through thumbing down every comment that expresses the tiniest sliver of skepticism about this conspicuously detail-free story.

Maybe your company doesn't like money
The only way I could understand you getting fired was if your manager wanted to run his company into the ground and you saving money ruined his master plan
