Keep the water. If you don't have electric, you won't be able to write anymore inane FML's like this one and the world will be a better place.

Don't know about France but in England they can't cut your water because it's essential for life so I'd pay the electricity but obviously it may be different there.

what is in your budget? maybe it's a matter of sorting your priorities to be able to pay for both...

Pay your electric.....call the water...ask for an extension.... Or, call both, explain and ask for an extension for both and pay part of both now. worst case: pay electric...the water is easy to turn on when you need it...just open the water meter in front of your house.

if you pay for each based on how much you use you can pay for both by being really conservative. keep lights off when they're not in use. get florescent bulbs, get a low-pressure shower head, keep a glass of water next to your sink for rinsing your toothbrush/razor to aavoid running the water. watch less tv, keep your phone charger unplugged when its not in use. only charge your fone when its completely dead (this will maintain the fones ability to carry a charge, and thus will mean you have to charge it less.) all of these and more are options you can use. look over your budget, and look for places where you can save. no saving is too small, because a few cents here, a couple of bucks there, spread out over your entire budget can end up saving you a significnt amount. good luck

yea keep water so you would be clean..to eat just buy beef jerky or canned food. Theres lots of things you can eat without having to cook them or keep them refrigerated. :D

electric because u can't take a hot shower with out it

if the op paid electric, they wouldn't be able to pay water nd couldn't have a hot shower anyway - pay water, and live on tinned food for a bit - it won't kill you!

why is nearly every french FML from Nord Pas de Calais? Its a small area with only about about 7% of the population of France but about about 95% of french FMLs.

That's what location unspecified for french fmls shows up as.

yes definitely water. without it you can't flush, brush your teeth, wash dishes, etc. you can live fine without electricity, just use flashlights and candles and sleep early :) AND KEEP YOUR FRIDGE CLOSED or else the cold air will all escape and your food will go bad!! know what you're taking out before you open the fridge

TheDrifter 23

The fridge will only stay cold a few days, unless its pretty cold there and they have electric heat, in which case things will be nice and cool in the house.

Unless there was a major life catastrophe, OP deserves it. Besides, someone who has always been responsible could borrow money in this situation. If no bank or friend of family would lend it to them, means they have been so irresponsible for so long that no one has any trust in them.

Am I the only one annoyed by people calling it 'electric' and not 'electricity'... As an electronics student, it sounds so messed up to me.

The company who supplies your electricity is called the electric company, and the bill that comes in the mail is called your electric bill. I haven't seen anyone on here actually mix up electricity and electric. Most have been referring to the electric bill, and shortening it.

What the hell.. I call it an electricity bill so do a lot of people that I know.

It's probably a regional thing, then. You're from England; I'm from the US. I've never heard it called an electricity bill in my life.
