Keep the water. If you don't have electric, you won't be able to write anymore inane FML's like this one and the world will be a better place.

Don't know about France but in England they can't cut your water because it's essential for life so I'd pay the electricity but obviously it may be different there.

geez thats what I get for trying to be helpful! I am a 22 yr old female and live in Detroit. I sponsor less fortunate children in other countries and saw this as an opportunity to help someone. My offer still stands!

YPDI (the P is probably), you need to pay more attention to the important things like phone, water, electricity and food bills; you don't need to waste money on internet unless it is for some reason required for your job, shopping sprees, and overspending on Christmas and boxing day sales (people will understand if you can't get them anything big, homemade thing like baked goods and cards will have shown you gave it thought), oh and skip the booze its expensive as I'm finding out right now. Don't pay the cable bill if you've got one of those use the money from that to help pay your water first, you can live off of raw ramen noodles and dried fruit/canned stuff that doesn't need to be cooked, but you need to appear clean to get a better job, and you need to able to take a shit, flashlights and candles provide good light source, and books can be quite entertaining, if electricity is involved in heating your house you are screwed cause your pipes may burst; but either way try to negotiate it first. If the above reason is not true for why your in this situation then either you live in too expensive a place or your life really sucks, either way I hope you don't have kids living with you, cuase it would be FTL and FYL. Would love to help out if it's not your own fault but I can't afford to... I have to pay my parents rent( and I overspent this holiday season as I know most of us do) have to prevent myself from building up debt cause I don't want to screw over my credit rating. I don't know much about this sort of stuff though cause I'm just book smart and I've only just been released into real life sorta.

I'm guessing you have food in your fridge? taking a showers gonna keep you from smelling like shit, true true, but it won't keep your house from smelling like old rotting food and besides do you really wana live without tv

Choose the electric. In most countries, it is illegal for services suppliers to cut off water supplies, and not only that, it's impossible to do.

If you don't pay your bills they can shut anything off.

Different countries and states have different rules. Where I used to live if you had electric heating the electric company couldn't shut you off between November and February. I've never heard of laws preventing water shut off though.

i think the OP is in France where they can and do cut off the water supply. in some countries, they are prohibited from turning heat off in the winter, so if her heating is electric the OP may have a case to prevent them from cutting off electricity...

someones got their priorities straightened out.. in my budget, ill pay for internet so i can complain about my life because i crave attention, but now i have to choose between water and electric... YDI

Because they can't be at someone else's house or at the library posting this. Of course not.

you deserve it. you have to be pretty late before they send you disconnect notices, and if you were responsible you would have known this was coming and dealt with the issue before it got to this point - second job, borrow money or make arrangements with the utility company.

We were five days late once, and they sent a disconnect notice... =/ Actually, they sent the bill late, and sent it with the d/c notice.

you may be able to make quick money by involving yourself in studies at your local University, too. Or, if you're really desperate, pharmaceutical companies are often looking for human subjects.

how about you don't pay your internet or cell phone. get your priorities straight

boatkicker 4

1) They could very easily be posting from someone else's internet, or the libraries or something. 2) No one said OP had a cell phone, but if they do, what if they use their cell phone to find out their work schedule or something? That would be pretty important, and cell phone is cheaper than a house phone.

electric. you can buy a few of those huge drinking water jugs from the store, take your clothes to a laundrette, use disposable dishes, and buy some of those cleaning cloths for elderly people to take care of washing. you can also just wash your hair in a sink at work. better than being without fml and heat to console you for a month

electric.... shower at your neighbours then pay them back XP
