Today, I got my car back from the shop. The engine has been rebuilt twice in the past 3 months. My check engine light just came on. FML

just because the check engine light is on don't mean your problem is with the engine and if you had the engine rebuilt 3 times YDI for being retarded and not trying to find out what's wrong in the first place

The mech knows you can afford to keep having yourengine rebuilt so he's robbing you

yea i agree unless Ur car is from the 60s or older it shouldn't need a rebuild those cost like $10000

It could be a problem with the continuum transfunctioner.

Or perhaps it's the Minovsky field matrix contusionator?

just because the check engine light came on, doesnt mean it needs to be rebuilt. have a different mechanic hook it up to a code scanner and check what it is.

doeant mean its bad engine you just have to reset your the computer for ur car

Please, never give car advice again. You cant just "reset" a car computer like your home pc.

It solves nothing the problem will still be there but just unhook the negative from the terminal and put it back on just pretend to be oblivious when it happens again.

Actually he is right you have to reset the codes after your finished doing the job or they will never go away.

*Wow, that's so (choose one): A) great B) terrible C) Raven D) all of the above *FML auditors seem to have a problem with my rather innocuous comments. So, I figured this is what they are looking for.

As others have said, it might just be a faulty light. The car I drive has a faulty light, it's been checked and we've no idea why it comes on (seemingly at random) but we know that it's just a faulty light or signal telling the light to come on. So maybe it might not be that serious.

My friend has a 1983 chevy with over 400k miles and the original engine. It's a little hard to start but otherwise runs great.

Maybe you should have sent your car to a garage instead of a shop. That might have been of more use.
