Today, I got my car back from the shop. The engine has been rebuilt twice in the past 3 months. My check engine light just came on. FML

my Kia does that, but there really isn't anything wrong with the car. you're mechanic is charging you for something he's not even putting any effort into to fix!

kudos to the mechanic... got to admire pulling in a sucker 3 times!!!

probably another terribly made American cars.

Usually the check engine light has to do with EMISSIONS. It does not mean your engine is going to die. It just has to do with the amount of smog you're putting out. 9/10 times it's a broken O2 sensor.

my car is the same way it's been rebuilt 3 times and still barley starts

Get a new car idiot.... you can lease a new car for less than your monthly repair bills on your old POS...... problem solved, stop cwying.....:)

Check engine lights can come on for any reason such as emmison probelms like a old or slighty open gas cap or even a fuse . Get it scanned and that can tell u more

OBDII is for 96 and newer, if you replace a part with a non OE it will not throw a check engine light, unless the part itself is faulty, and it could be just a vacuum line or something simple......its not rocket science people! This is why I make money, because of ignorant people.....Gotta love being a mechanic

that doesn't mean shit. could be a busted check engine light. by the way if you're going to rebuild the engine twice just by a new car.
