Today, I got my first driving lesson from my dad. We traded seats, I started the car and his entire lesson was, "Go." FML

Well good for you, you had someone that was at there with you. I learnt to drive when I was 10 on the farm, by myself. My dad asked me to take out the garbage and take it to the shops garbage bin so I did. He also had me drive tandem trucks when I was 12 by our canal. Take it slow learn what your doing and you'll get good at it.

My dad taught me in Mexico. He said "Step on it, try not to hit that burro". You are lucky you at least were in the streets OP.

Good approach. People become too tense behind the wheel when constantly told what to do.
