Today, I got pulled over for the first time since I got my license. I have disorganized speech and occasional inappropriate emotional response. I began to laugh due to nervousness and when I tried to explain why, I was arrested because he thought I was high. FML

Unlucky. I used to have the same responses, got into a lot of trouble when I was in school for that.

umm for those of you saying she shouldn't be nervous, take away her license, she shouldn't drive if she gets nervous: some people get really nervous in situations where they've done something wrong. personally, if I've possibly endangered someones life by driving recklessly, I'd get a bit shook up. I also have an irrational fear of law enforcement, but that's my problem. with the OPs disorder, it sounds like she would very easily and understandably get nervous after being pulled over

The same thing happened to me in fifth grade. I ended up getting in trouble because I couldn't help but laugh when I tried explaining to the teacher that I hadn't done anything.

Just pointing out the fact they do have actual medical documentation for situations like this, just like you see people with those red cross allergy bracelets, ect. And it's not unreasonable to recommend something like that when the person KNOWS they may have problems in situations like this.

how can they arrest you because they think you're high? i guess if they're dickeating suburban cops they can arrest you for whatever and call it disorderly conduct, but i would get a note from a doctor and seriously fight that in court because that is ****** up.

Oh yeah! I've gotten comparable feelings from being scared to death in Analysis. No joke. The projector screen shot up and made a really loud BANG. I screamed and felt this HUGE rush of adrenaline. It was fantastic. Then for the next twenty minutes I could breathe even better than weed lets me and I couldn't stop giggling. My teacher didn't say anything, even though she's usually a tough cat. But she likes me because I like math. :)
