Today, I got screamed at, threatened, cursed, and spat on by an elderly couple for "running them off the road". I was driving an ambulance, lights and sirens on, with a 4 year old in the back who couldn't breathe. They were going 20 in a 50mph zone for 2 miles straight. FML

This is fake. An ambulance driver would have immediately called out Police to stop and ticket the elderly driver if they were running code and the elderly driver was impeding traffic.

No, not fake. Happens all the time. Cars today are insulated better than ever, coupled with a driver likely hearing inpaired. I do beleive the 20 mph for 2 miles is an exaggeration though. Over the course of 2 miles, there should have been ample opportunity to cross lanes and pass. Also, stop blaming only old people. I have had too many near misses and been blocked in my ambulance too many times by teenagers with the windows down, radio cranked while simultaneously talking on a cellphone. There are idiots of every generation. Although, the elder generation is less likely to judge.

That's why all roads need a MINIUM speed limit also, driving too slow is just as much of a danger to everyone else as driving too fast

I would have had dispatch send out a cop to take care of the problem. Doesn't just happen to the elderly, seen this problem myself with all ages and races.

This problem happens with rude, inconsiderate drivers of all ages. The really arrogant ones intentionally drive slowly and refuse to let the emergency vehicle pass. I read where one middle-aged guy did this, intentionally keeping the ambulance from getting past him, until he got home and realized the ambulance had also been trying to go to his home to get his elderly mother who'd had some major medical crisis.

Vote for people over 55 to not drive! Like this comment to vote!!!

O my gosh that's awful. Dot they know it's against the law to keep driving. And also spitting on someone is considered assault
