Today, I got screamed at to the point of tears by a Starbucks employee for "giving an obviously fake name" to confuse one of the employees. I told her my real name. My name is Ian. FML

This is some ridiculous shit. You cried? You should have presented your ID, then presented your middle finger before talking to a manager and then filing a complaint with head office.

Next time OP, simply take out your wallet and show them an appropriate ID with your name on it. Then very quietly and force ask them WTF is wrong with the name your parents chose for you?

Just show a form of ID, or get over it?

I know three people who share the name Ian; so that employee needs to calm the shit down and go to proper training to treat customers nicely.

Ian is one of the most common names in the US.

I would've told them to forget the order, I'll be taking my money elsewhere from now on: You vote with your money, don't give yours to people who disrespect you so badly. Then I would've asked for a manager, and if you were dealing with a manger (which I sure hope you werent, nobody should be given a management position if they treat customers like that), I would've called the customer complaint line when I got home. It's totally unacceptable.

My local (American) starbucks must be the only one that doesn't ask for your name!

TBH I get where the person coming from (not saying I agree) but I don't know any girl Ian's

Complaint w cooperate N threaten to sue!!! Starbucks for life... N they'll never call yur name a fake again...
