Today, I got screamed at to the point of tears by a Starbucks employee for "giving an obviously fake name" to confuse one of the employees. I told her my real name. My name is Ian. FML

Report her and get her ass fired.

"My name is Marc with a C." Checks cup: Cark

Could be a case of them not being able to hear correctly. I know how loud it can get and I can't hear people correctly (that was McDonald's cafe though)- but no I would never yell- that's disgusting. Unless you said something smart assed back? I don't think you'd write an FML if you did but there's got to be more to the story.

Even if he did say something smart assed, it certainly doesn't warrant being screamed at to the point of tears...

F- those trendy hipsters. Ian is a BADASS name !!!

Call customer service and DEMAND that employee is let go. Say it in a harsh way and they will take care of you, with free stuff

Is that your idea of customer service? Where do customers get off demanding things of employees and corporations? Just because you go into a store acting like that doesn't mean you're going to get your way. Letting that employee go could have legal implications. But if you say it harshly everything will magically happen for you, right? Managers aren't going to manage their employees/the situation at all because you were harsh in your tone/language. And no, you will not necessarily receive free stuff. If you behave this way in a store, you should be ashamed of yourself. (I speak on what this user wrote, not OPs FML. There is no reason OP should have been belittled and screamed at like that.)

75, I don't think there's anything wrong about complaining to a manager about this. If the employee was that rude to OP, chances are he's been rude to other customers as well. If I were a manager, I'd want to know if one of my employees were behaving that way.

#67 didn't say anything about speaking to the manager. There is absolutely nothing wrong with speaking to the manager at all, especially about this type of behavior that OP received. Its about #67 demanding things of the corporation and then expecting free things from them. This behavior and sense of entitlement is abhorrent in retail and food service stores. I work store level retail and coming in and demanding discounts or items from us gets you nowhere. Coming up and actually speaking to us works so much better. Being an adult and speaking to the manager about any possible issues works wonders compared to demanding whatever it is you want.

As a fellow Ian, I feel your struggle.

They'd go insane if they had to write out my name. Well, the Gaelic version of it I use. Seumas Mac a' Ghobhainn

Call the manager get that jerk fired. That's not even right to do
