Today, I got the best grade in class on my economics midterm. Rather than tell me I did a good job, my professor criticized me in front of everyone about how I was working "too hard". FML
I agree, your life sucks 42 860

And that is the reason why I'll never understand the way school works. P.S., He's probably jealous because he couldn't get those grades himself. Keep it up OP :)

What a jerk, can't accept an over achiever when he sees one ;-)

Why do so many people want to put down hard working people??? If this country wants to compete with other countries when it comes to education, then people need to help each other out. Like if one of your classmates said something dumb during a discussion then instead of mocking said classmate just explain it to them. I will never understand education in this country -_-

While I commend your work. Take pause, and ask yourself, are you working too hard?

for the amount of money you have to pay for those classes you damn right to work hard. your professor is an ass. report him.

See what happens when you overachieve, people hate you...an like i always say, if they don't hate you for it, you're not doing it right! Forget what they think and keep it up OP!

The only reason I can possibly see for the professor being upset about this is if OP is far and beyond what is being taught in class and knows they have to follow the lesson plan and feels there is no need to rush. There isn't just OP there is probably around 20 students and the prof ideally would like most to be on the same page.

It's okay, OP. Once while in high school I received the highest grade on a final out of all six of the classes that teacher taught. His idea was to photocopy my test (name and all) and hand a copy to every single student of his and then spend the classes tearing my test apart. It was horrific.

He was quirky. He ended up being my favorite teacher and I took more classes taught by him- but it was still a horrific moment that I still get embarrassed about years later.
