Today, I got the courage to ask my mom if I could go to the movies alone on my first date with my new boyfriend. She said ok, which was surprising because she never lets me go anywhere alone. When I got to the theatre with him I saw my mom. She had saved seats for us. FML

Today, I took a girl I like to the movies. Everything went great until I went in to kiss her. She didn't object, but my mother, who apparently followed me to the theater and was now pulling me away by my shirt while saying, "We're leaving!" certainly did. FML

Today, my mother invited me to a nice restaurant to meet her boyfriend whom she's been seriously dating for a month. Imagine my surprise when she led me to a table and my boyfriend's father stood up, shocked, to greet me. Rather than being horrified, she is now planning double dates every week. FML

Heh, that sucks, but hopefully you're still young. If you're over 18 though, then you need to say something to your mother or just start doing your own thing without telling her. To an extent, sometimes parents never really leave you alone. I'm 20 and so long as I still live with my mother she's going to ask me where I'm going and who I'm going to be with and about when to expect me home.
