Today, I got the courage to ask my mom if I could go to the movies alone on my first date with my new boyfriend. She said ok, which was surprising because she never lets me go anywhere alone. When I got to the theatre with him I saw my mom. She had saved seats for us. FML

Today, I took a girl I like to the movies. Everything went great until I went in to kiss her. She didn't object, but my mother, who apparently followed me to the theater and was now pulling me away by my shirt while saying, "We're leaving!" certainly did. FML

Today, my mother invited me to a nice restaurant to meet her boyfriend whom she's been seriously dating for a month. Imagine my surprise when she led me to a table and my boyfriend's father stood up, shocked, to greet me. Rather than being horrified, she is now planning double dates every week. FML

If this mother is so ridiculously protective how come that lil **** is already on boyfriend number 2?! You can't go to the movies alone, but you're free to have as many romantic relationships with boys as you like...... Makes sense right?

My mom was so overprotective, and I am a guy, so I feel your pain. She is just starting to let me live my own life since I am now 18. I am sure the OP's mom will chill out in the future like my mom did.
